Decorative Finishes

Exposed aggregate, broom, color and saw-cut patterns.

Overview

Explore our Decorative Finishes work

Not every slab should be stamped. Exposed aggregate gives you natural stone texture and excellent wet traction. A saw-cut grid turns a plain patio into something that reads as designed. Integral color warms up gray concrete without any pattern at all, and a good broom finish is still the right answer on a lot of driveways.

We will talk you through what each finish costs, how it wears under salt, and how much maintenance it wants. Sometimes the honest recommendation is the simplest finish and spending the difference on square footage.

How it works

Our Decorative Finishes process

No mystery, no surprises — here's exactly how a job runs from the first call to the final walkthrough.

  1. 01

    Choose the finish

We look at traction needs, sun exposure, maintenance appetite and budget, then match a finish to them — with samples where it helps.

  2. 02

    Base and pour

Standard structural prep: compacted base, forms set to drain, reinforcement placed, slab poured to thickness.

  3. 03

    Apply the finish

Aggregate is exposed with a surface retarder and wash, color is placed integrally or as a hardener, and broom texture is drawn at the right stage.

  4. 04

    Saw-cut detailing

Where you want a pattern, we lay out and saw-cut a grid or border that doubles as the control joints.

  5. 05

    Cure and seal

We cure the slab properly and seal decorative surfaces, then explain the resealing interval.
