Edging
The line between lawn and bed, held all season.
Explore our Edging work
Edging is a small line item that does a disproportionate amount of work. A crisp, deep edge stops mulch from washing into the lawn, stops turf from creeping into the bed, and makes even an ordinary planting look deliberate.
We install a spade-cut trench edge for the classic look, steel edging where you want a permanent line with almost no visual weight, and paver or stone borders where the edge should be a design element — especially where a bed meets a patio and you want the materials to talk to each other.

No mystery, no surprises — here's exactly how a job runs from the first call to the final walkthrough.
- 01
Set the line
We paint the edge line first and let you look at it from the street and the house before cutting.
- 02
Cut and trench
The edge gets cut to a consistent depth with a clean vertical face on the bed side and a gentle slope out to the lawn.
- 03
Install the border
Steel gets staked below grade so it won't heave; paver and stone borders get a compacted base and edge restraint like any other hardscape.
- 04
Backfill and dress
We top the beds back off, feather the mulch or rock to the new edge, and blow the lawn side clean.
