A fire pit is the single best return on a hardscape dollar in this climate. It stretches the season on both ends and it is where everyone ends up on a Saturday night. We build round and square pits in matching block or natural stone, wood-burning or plumbed for gas, with a steel insert so the block face does not spall.
The pit is only half of it. A seat wall wrapped around one or two sides gives you permanent seating for six to ten people without dragging chairs out, and capstone columns at the ends are the natural place to hide low-voltage lights so the whole area glows once the sun drops.

No mystery, no surprises — here's exactly how a job runs from the first call to the final walkthrough.

Placement and sizing
We site the pit for wind direction, clearance from the house and how many people you want seated around it, then size the surrounding patio to match.

Base and footing
The pit and any seat wall get their own compacted base so they never settle independently of the patio around them.
- 03
Pit construction
Block or stone goes up around a steel fire ring, with a gas line stubbed in first if you are going that route. Capstones get glued and mitered at the corners.

Seat wall and columns
The seat wall goes up to a comfortable sitting height with a wide capstone, and columns get built at the ends with conduit run for lighting.
- 05
Lighting and finish
We set the low-voltage fixtures under the caps, sweep the joints, clean the stone and walk the finished space with you.
